TECH

If there’s one overarching takeaway from last night’s Rabbit R1 launch event, it’s this: Hardware can be fun again. After a decade of unquestioned smartphone dominance, there is, once again, excitement to be found in consumer electronics. The wisdom and longevity of any individual product or form factor — while important — can be set aside for a moment. Just sit back and enjoy the show.

Slack has a new generative AI tool that's like a morning newsletter for your messages. On Thursday, the popular workplace messaging platform announced a new "Recap" feature that compiles a daily summary of important conversations. Users can choose specific channels they want to keep tabs on — and Recap will compile daily summaries that can be accessed in the sidebar.

Synthesia — one of the ambitious AI startups working in video, specifically custom avatars designed for business users to create promotional, training and other enterprise video content — is releasing an update that it hopes will help it leapfrog over some of the challenges in its particular field.

PROGRAMMING AND DESIGN

The rise of AI obviously has impacted various industries, and the finance industry is among the ones that have been impacted the most. For example, the public launch of models like GPT-3.5 last year has increased interest in utilizing AI to help increase fund managers' abilities in analysis, risk management, and decision-making.

Pragmatic drag and drop is a low-level drag and drop toolchain that enables safe and successful usage of browsers' built-in drag and drop functionality. It can be used with any view layer. While the package includes its own design guidelines, users are free to use whatever design languages they like.
