Hi AI Futurists,

Microsoft is rebuilding Windows 11 around AI, bringing Copilot Voice, Vision, and Actions to all PCs. These features let users talk to Windows, let the AI “see” context on screen, and execute tasks within apps or across services—turning the OS into an agent-driven platform. Let’s take a look.

Here’s our agenda.

Microsoft’s Copilot Is Rewriting How You Use Your PC

Microsoft is reimagining Windows 11 with artificial intelligence at its core, as Windows 10 support officially ends. Every Windows 11 PC will soon include Copilot’s full suite of features—Voice, Vision, and Actions—marking a shift toward natural, conversational computing. Users will be able to say “Hey Copilot” to start talking to their computers, while Copilot Vision lets the AI see what’s on-screen and assist contextually. “It’s been almost four decades since the PC changed the way you interact with it,” said Yusuf Mehdi, Microsoft’s consumer CMO. “We think voice will become the third input mechanism.”

The most striking new tools—Copilot Vision and Copilot Actions—extend beyond simple assistance. Vision understands what’s on your screen, guiding you through complex apps or even games. Actions take it further by performing tasks for you, such as editing a batch of photos or generating a PowerPoint deck via natural language. Microsoft says these capabilities will work with both local files and connected apps like Gmail or Google Calendar through a new feature called Connectors.

This “rewriting” of Windows signals a deeper transformation: the PC is becoming an active collaborator rather than a passive tool. As voice and context replace clicks and menus, work itself could start feeling less like operating a machine and more like delegating to a digital partner—reshaping productivity, creativity, and how humans define “doing the work.”

Takeaways at a Glance:

  • Windows 10 support has ended; upgrade momentum expected toward Windows 11.

  • “Hey Copilot” voice commands now natively integrated systemwide.

  • Copilot Vision reads screen context for smarter help in any app.

  • Copilot Actions performs local or cloud-based tasks through Connectors (e.g., Gmail, OneDrive).

  • Third-party integration and API-style actions suggest agent ecosystem potential.

What We Think About It:

  • Microsoft isn’t just adding AI; it’s redefining the OS as an interface for autonomous agents. This sets the stage for Windows to compete with browser-based AI platforms and could push developers toward new UI and UX standards. If widely adopted, it could change how users discover and use software entirely.

What You Can Do Right Now:

  • If you’re using Windows 11, the best move right now is to turn on Copilot and get comfortable using it in small ways. Try saying “Hey Copilot” or opening the Copilot icon in your taskbar to see what it can already do — from writing quick emails to finding files faster.

  • Once Copilot Vision rolls out, you’ll be able to ask questions about what’s on your screen — like “show me how to crop this image” or “summarize this PDF.” Start thinking about tasks you do repeatedly (organizing files, formatting documents, searching settings) and experiment with voice or text commands to let Copilot handle them.
