🚨 Breaking AI News 🚨
Meta has developed an AI model called SeamlessM4T that can translate and transcribe close to 100 languages. It combines speech-to-speech, speech-to-text, and text-to-text capabilities into one multitask system.
Meta claims it represents a breakthrough in cross-lingual AI. SeamlessM4T outperforms other models on noisy speech transcription and aims to enable seamless communication between languages.
They caution against using it for legal or medical purposes; the goal is seamless communication between different languages.
Are we going to loose the world language barrier thanks to AI?
Yesterday, OpenAI enabled customers to fine-tune the lightweight GPT-3.5 Turbo with custom data through its API. This allows developers to tailor the text-generating AI for improved reliability.
According to OpenAI, “fine-tuned versions can match or exceed GPT-4 on narrow tasks.” And users can better tailor tone, formatting consistency, languages, and more.
GPT-4 fine-tuning will be released later this fall.
