Big Takeaway: ChatGPT creator Sam Altman says AI is better at tasks than jobs for now, so we shouldn't panic about mass job loss yet…
He was responding to a Tweet about Flexport automating shipping tasks with AI, reducing 30 minute jobs to 20 seconds.
While AI will make many tasks dramatically faster, Altman believes it leads to performance improvements versus outright job replacement currently.
Data supports this, with one study estimating AI will mostly complement 63% of jobs versus substituting just 7% in the near future.
