🚨 Breaking AI News 🚨

The Edge: Meta is planning to release AI chatbots with distinct personalities on its apps starting this week to engage young users.
Meta aims to increase time spent on its apps through the bots, but questions remain on whether they will drive meaningful revenue.
The bots are being tested by employees and will be announced at Meta's conference, with dozens more planned.
One example is a sassy bot named Bob aimed at Gen Z humor, but some employees found it rude in early tests.
Do you think this is a good move by Meta?
The Edge: Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong stated that AI should not be regulated in order to let rapid innovation continue for national security reasons.
Armstrong argued regulation unintentionally kills innovation and competition, citing the early internet's "golden age" enabled by lack of regulation, which he believes should apply to AI.
As an alternative to regulation, he suggested decentralizing and open-sourcing AI to "let the cat out of the bag."
Meanwhile, jurisdictions like China and the UK have implemented or proposed AI regulations out of concern over potential impacts on society.
Is decentralization and open-sourcing AI the best way to regulate AI?
