🎭 Meta Launches Muse
Zuckerberg unveiled Muse on September 8. It is not a chatbot. It connects to email, calendar, payments, and apps like Google Workspace and Spotify, then works through multi-step goals with minimal check-ins.
It runs in a Secure VM, asks approval before higher-risk actions, and starts free with paid tiers at $20 and $100 per month. US only, 18 and older.
The launch came thirteen days after Meta's $18 billion settlement over social media harms to children. Asking for access to email, money, and health data right after that takes some nerve.

IFA 2026 opened in Berlin on September 4 with the largest humanoid robot showcase in the show's history. Chinese firms dominated. Xiaomi's CyberOne fist-bumped visitors; its day job is fastening nuts at an EV factory at a 98% success rate.
Unitree, Agibot, and Deep Robotics walked machines down a catwalk in an event called Robots on the Runway. Some units danced in formation. Some swayed off beat.
The hardware is real. The demand picture is not: capacity to build is outpacing buyers.
OpenAI Is Building an AI Researcher
OpenAI said on September 6 it hit a milestone Sam Altman set last October: an automated research intern, on schedule.
The research org now logs 3.1 agent-workdays for every human workday. The median researcher was spending over $600 a day on inference by mid-August. Top users exceeded $7,000.
Next target: a fully automated AI researcher by March 2028. OpenAI admits it does not yet know how to do that safely, and says it cannot assume safety will keep pace with capability.
