The Edge: The Authors Guild and prominent authors filed another lawsuit against OpenAI, alleging it used their copyrighted books as training data for ChatGPT without permission.
Game of Thrones creator George R.R. Martin is the most recent author to join the lawsuit.
The lawsuit cites examples like ChatGPT generating unauthorized Game of Thrones sequel outlines and AI-created endings to Martin's novels.
The authors are seeking damages for lost licensing opportunities and market disruption, plus a demand for OpenAI's to stop unauthorized use of their works.
