Apple's M4 chips are coming

Big Takeaway: Apple is planning to introduce the M4 chip lineup, potentially in October, following last year's release pattern for the M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips.

The M4 processor updates will extend to the 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models in spring 2025, the Mac Studio in mid-2025, and the Mac Pro later in the year.
They are expected in three main variants: Donan for entry-level, Brava for mid-tier, and Hidra for high-end applications, with the Hidra chip aimed at the Mac Pro as an "Ultra" or "Extreme" tier chip.
The M4 chips will reportedly support up to 512GB of Unified Memory, a significant increase from the current 192GB limit, and will be manufactured using an improved 3-nanometer process by TSMC.
