🚨 Breaking AI News

Apple has finally entered the AI race… kind of. In a report from Bloomberg yesterday, Apple is rumored to be building “AppleGPT” their version of an AI chatbot.
They also built a framework called "Ajax" to accelerate the development of their generative AI products. Apple is currently having trouble deciding where to implement generative AI into its $400 billion lineup of iPhones, iPads, and Mac’s.
Apple's sneak peeks at Vision Pro show their determination to deliver an exceptional product. But time is not on Apple’s side as other companies like OpenAI, Google, and Meta are making their mark in the rapidly developing AI sector.

For the past few months, thousands of ChatGPT users have reported that OpenAI has made their product “dumber.” Yesterday, researchers from Stanford and UC Berkeley published a paper finding that ChatGPT has in fact declined since March.
They tested GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 on prime number identification, math, code generation, visual reasoning, and jailbreaking resistance. (Pictured above) Visual reasoning was the only test that improved, while all other tests declined.
Researchers are now calling this phenomenon "LLM drift," which is when LLM’s undergo significant changes over time. This is not an official paper, however, so there is still more to be tested.

Data Mining
‘Data Mining’ can be compared to a treasure hunt, where the treasure is hidden patterns, correlations, or insights within a vast amount of data. In a more technical sense, it's the process of discovering meaningful information from large datasets through the use of computational algorithms and statistical techniques.
Data Mining involves multiple steps:
1. Data collection: Gathering large volumes of data from various sources.
2. Data cleaning and preprocessing: Ensuring data is clean, complete, and in the right format for mining.
3. Analysis: Using algorithms to identify patterns, relationships, or anomalies.
4. Interpretation and Evaluation: Making sense of the results and evaluating their potential value.
Data Mining plays a crucial role in various sectors, from healthcare and finance to marketing and supply chain management. However, it's important to ensure ethical use of data, respecting privacy, and securing the consent of individuals whose data is being mined.
